Dr. Gerasimos Zaharatos is an investigator at the Lady Davis Institute, an assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases of the Department of Medicine at McGill University, and an attending staff at the Jewish General Hospital.

He obtained his medical degree at McGill University before pursuing subspecialty training in internal medicine at the Montreal General Hospital and in McGill’s Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology Fellowship Program.

Dr. Zaharatos’ research is focused in two areas. The first is working towards creating potent DNA vaccines targeting viral envelope glycoproteins like HIV-1. The second is studying the basic mechanisms underlying DNA vaccine immunogenicity.
